1. my little monste r (2012) japanese title: tonari no kaibutsu kun. episodes: 13 ova. we’ve come to the much anticipated revelation. i don’t know if you will agree with me, but in my opinion, the best romance anime is my little monster (aka tonari no kaibutsu kun ). i really encourage you to watch it. Episodes: 25. imdb mal: 8.0 8.1. toradora is a classic romance anime that has been in the hearts of many fans for decades now. it has a funny plot unlike any other, check it out: high school student ryuuji takasu has a kind heart but keeps a tough front. taiga aisaka, on the other hand, is just a cute girl. 29. the tatami galaxy. easily the most avant garde title on this list, the tatami galaxy is a masterpiece from masaaki yuasa, one of my all time favorite directors. yojouhan shinwa taikei doesn’t look like a rom com at all. it’s surreal, dynamic, and seemingly repetitive yet dynamic at the same time. 23. love, chunibyo & other delusions: love, chunibyo & other delusions is definitely regarded as one of the best romance anime by a good chunk of romance buffs. the show is all about the challenges of growing up and learning to embrace people who seem a bit different and unique.
