If it's the same as my 1989 85hp force there are 2 ignition modules: the first is for cylinders 1 & 2; the second is for cylinders 3 & 4. (the 4th cylinder is for the 125hp motor with 4 cylinders.) there is also a different trigger and coil for the 3rd cylinder. the trigger is under the flywheel with the stator. Here are his thoughts on hesitation and bogging down on applying throttle. this is a common problem and is usually caused by a sticking timer base under the flywheel or fouled, clogged carburetors, however… also check the carburetor linkages, compression, spark, and the timer base as follows. carburetor linkages: check the carburetor throttle.
