2012 Nissan Altima Vehicle Information Display Not Working 6 posts · joined 2017. #1 · jul 13, 2017. i just bought a 2012 nissan altima 2.5s over the weekend and the vid (vehicle information display is not working at all. it was my first time driving a car like this so i did'nt know the vid was even there so hopefully i can get some help from my new friends out there!. 2012 nissan altima vehicle information display stopped working. this is the screen below the speedometer that displays the temperature, mpg, maintenance, alerts, etc. first the screen became jumbled then went out. some say to check the #19 fuse which is fine and the radio still works. any idea on what the issue might be?.

This is your problem, it's very common on gen4 alties and gen7 maximas. the view is of the back of your cluster. remove the zif lock, clean the ribbon cable contacts, then reinsert the ribbon into the zif and make sure it locks down perfectly straight (even a tiny misalignment will cause the display to go out).
