Jnr S Mq Swb Stroker Patrol 4x4 Nissan Patrol Forum My dad has just has his vn ss 5ltr stripped down and rebuilt with a c.o.m.e racing 355 stroker and twin throttle body, also got new roller rockers and a new crane cam (not sure exactly what cam) and has just got his chip remapped by chiptorque, and redback extractors to high flow cat and 3" inch single exhaust. We find most 355 strokers make peak power around the 6800 mark if the intake runner is sized correctly to suit. the cam i have is a waggot with the following specs. lift 600 thou with 1.65:1 rockers (in & ex) intake 249 @ 50 total 277. exhaust 258 @ 50 total 285. Was trolling the web for my 3" exhaust bits and spotted the link below, looks like it costs more than my troll did but probably a fair bit in the labour costs. turbo glide: nissan sd 33 patrol turbo kit fitted. 85 swb sd33t 5 speed 2" body lift, 2" terrain tamer spring lift yokohama geolander at s 31*10.5r15 manual boost controller with 3" dump. Being blunt it hasn't got enough power on the highway or acceleration pre 3,000rpm what i'm thinking is would it be better to throw a stroker kit into the 5.0l or look more at ripping it out in favour of the ls1,2,3 my mind thinking is an ls1 really going to be worth the cost (engine conversion kit getting to turn key).
