When it comes to diesel engine hierarchy, we feel it's fair to say ford's 1994 2003 7.3l power stroke engine sits squarely in a middle space among all of the oil burners that have powered heavy.
Common 7 3l Ford Power Stroke Crank No Start Causes Ebp: not critical as it doesn't factor into starting, but that 38 psi seems a little high. it should be pretty close to atmospheric (14.7 psia) while cranking unless the ebp valve is stuck shut. i have heard of one instance of a stuck ebp valve causing a no start. battery voltage: 9v min rpm: 100 min. Your problem could be weak batteries not spinning the motor fast enough to get it going. the pcm won't allow the engine to start unless it hits a specific cranking speed. keep us posted. cj. 1997 f350 cclb 7.3, eaton fuller rto 6610, 4x4, 3.54, 2001 intercooler w modified down pipes, stage 1 kc turbo, riffraff bellowed up pipes, hydra w php. 2002 f250 7.3 diesel cranks but no starts! i’ve put new batteries in this truck, new starter, alternator, valve gasket. new solenoid's, camshaft position sensor,ipr was change, high pressure oil pump was changed, fuel pump was replaced, fuses were replaced, idm replaced wires replaced. i have not changed the ecm!. Yes no clean fpr screen clogged fuel line, bad selector valve switch, empty tank, etc. no yes low or no hpo pressure (>500psi min.) yes test with a mechanical gauge or scanner unplug icp and inspect plug for oil try to start with icp unnplugged try to start with icp bad icp or stuck ipr unnplugged start no start bad idm, pcm or wiring.
