2005 Chevy Silverado Transmission Cooler This is the easiest method i have found for installing a transmission cooler into your vehicle to imporve transmission cooling and fix prevent transmission o. Designed for 1999 2007 gm trucks (silverado sierra suv), this kit allows bolt on installation of the tru cool 40k transmission cooler (lpd47391). this kit has been designed to simplify the installation of these coolers, while providing a great looking, lightweight, and extremely durable design. pre assembled 6an ptfe braided stainless. This prevents restricting air flow to the radiator. if you place the cooler in and area with little air flow, a fan is a must. when installing coolers, make sure lines are clear of anything that can rub them. always use line that is approved for transmission hydraulic fluid. fuel line will not work and will break down in transmission fluid. Because of this, the tru cool 40k is the best transmission cooler upgrade for your 1500 or 2500hd (6.0 or 6.2 gas engine) silverado or sierra. the image below shows the difference between the tru cool 40k and factory external cooler. while many gm trucks come factory with an external cooler, it is not big enough to provide the cooling needed.
