Buffet Transformation General Finishes 2018 Design Challenge This buffet was found along the side of the road and a friend dropped it in my yard. most of the veneer had to be taken off. i spent over 24 hours just prepping it. after stripping the veneer, stripping paint, sanding and staining it. i did a gf driftwood wash (watered down) over the entire thing. stained the top and added new knobs. what a beauty she turned out to be. painted by rachel's re. Wow, what a transformation this turned out to be! this piece was brought to us by a client with many thick layers of dark brown latex paint on it. it wasn't a very high quality piece as it had a thin veneer on the whole thing. after days of stripping and carefully sanding we had it ready for paint and staint. i must say i had my doubts on how it would turn out! the top was refinished in java.
