Project wrap up (nov. 30, 2023) thanks to the support of the baraboo community, the carnegie schadde memorial public library renovation and expansion project has reached substantial completion. (there are a few small details still in progress). the renovated section of the library is now open to the public (the new addition opened in june).

Building Project Archive Carnegie Schadde Memorial Public Library On july 1, 2021, the baraboo public library officially became carnegie schadde memorial public library. the name honors the family of juanita schadde, whose $2.5 million donation helped make the library expansion project possible. the schadde family have been long time baraboo proprietors of schadde plumbing and heating, founded a few years. Thanks to the support of the baraboo community, the carnegie schadde memorial public library renovation and expansion project has reached substantial completion. there are a few small details. A new building, right, was added to the historic carnegie schadde memorial public library, left, as part of the expansion project. renovations were made to the original facility, built in 1903. The final concept for the new carnegie schadde memorial public library is a unique fusion of classic and contemporary design. the first phase of construction focused on a new 18,600 square foot multi story addition with grand, central two story entrance and lobby to conjoin the original library to the new expanded library spaces.
