Coral South Flng

Coral south is the first project approved by area 4 partners in the rovuma basin for the development of natural gas resources discovered offshore mozambique. it concerns in particular the southern part of the coral field, with an estimated reserve of about 500 billion cubic metres. its technological heart is the coral sul flng, a floating. It will be the world’s first ultra deepwater flng facility to operate at a water depth of 2,000m. coral south flng is the first project sanctioned for development by the area 4 partners. eni, the developer and operator of coral south flng, announced financial closure for the project in december 2017 and started construction in september 2018.

The coral south flng project is the first offshore field development in mozambique's rovuma basin, operated by eni and its partners. the project involves the construction and deployment of a floating liquefied natural gas facility with a capacity of 3.4mtpa, expected to start production in 2022. The coral sul flng facility has achieved an unprecedented level of completion at sail away, which puts it on track for the start up planned in 2022. coral south project eni leads the coral south project and all upstream operations in area 4, through its wholly owned affiliate eni rovuma basin (erb), holding a 25% indirect participation.
