The right way to do things is to drain when the tranny is scalding hot to get the most old fluid out then measure the approximate amount drained (by pouring the drained fluid into a graduated plastic jug) and add the same amount back into the tranny, plus another approx. 1 4 to 1 3 quart (8 12 ounces) extra fluid.
