By jen friday, march 24, 2017 52 weeks of printmakers, screenprinting. the little friends of printmaking is just one of jw and melissa buchanan’s many creative ventures. artists and designers, jw and melissa met at the university of wisconsin in madison, where they studied fine arts and art history. but that’s a rather dry introduction. The little friends currently live in los angeles with two very round cats. their awards include honors from the art directors' club, american illustration, and communication arts. their work has been featured in books including new masters of poster design [rockport] and handmade nation [princeton architectural press] and has appeared in. My name is jw buchanan. i'm an artist, illustrator, designer, a multi hyphenate and one half of the award winning duo the little friends of printmaking. i received my bfa in printmaking from the university of wisconsin. ever since, i've established an art practice that is utterly omnivorous, engaging in everything from editorial illustration.
