Pin Page Dyrhólaey is a 110 120 meter (360 394 ft) high in mýrdalur, located south of mýrdalsjökull glacier. the cape itself is quite large – about 510 hectares (1260 acres). its furthest point is the southernmost part of iceland. a narrow 100 meter rock spur stretches south out of the cape into the atlantic ocean with steep perpendicular cliffs. Dyrhólaey is about 174 km from reykjavík city or about 2 1 2 hour drive, not so far away from the beautiful little village vík (the southern most village in iceland). dyrhólaey is a small peninsula or promontory but is a former island. the whole area is really interesting and i recommend you spend some time there.
