For a red sheet, you're gonna want to have the color patterns you want, the species you want, and that's about it. take it to any artist that draws references and commission them. mine was done by neonslushie for something like $50 which is the best price i've ever seen on references. i've never seen a bad example of an actual reference. Here is a description: he is a wolf with a black plantigrade body with green quadrilaterals on the ends of the arms, legs, and tail, getting more dense toward the end of the limb. right pupil is a green 1 and left pupil is a green 0. fur on the back and top of his head, inside the ears, and belly is green. Do not shade a ref sheet. point out any details that are important or necessary, either by drawing a close up, or via a text label. many artists will ignore supplemental info and just look at the ref sheet. you want to make sure all the vital info is on the ref itself. be prepared to update this as time goes on, as you see patterns in artists.
