How to replace your bmw e46 & e39 with a m54 engine coolant pipe. yes, a great video. you should remind everyone, when you have the intake manifold off, to replace these. nobody made me aware of these hidden guys when i replaced my starter & re did my cooling system and now i will need to remove the intake again. 1) don't forget to route the positive cable correctly when putting back the manifold. you need the maximum length as it needs enough length to be bolted back to the terminal bolt. in my case, i forgot to pull it all the way back up and can't properly attached it (lengthwise) back to the terminal. Prepare to refill the system. turn ignition to position 2, do not start engine. turn on heater, set to highest temp and lowest fan speed. place towels under the car under the expansion tank. place the funnel in the mouth of the coolant expansion tank, and start to slowly add coolant.
