Make a cardboard hopscotch for a fun indoor activity for toddlers and preschoolers. great way to burn off steam when you’re stuck inside on rainy days. when the weather is nice and we’re playing outside, the kids get lots of gross motor activity doing all of their favourite things in the backyard. Make learning sight words fun with a game of hopscotch. in each box on the hopscotch court, write a sight word that your children are working on recalling. when they land on a sight word, they have to call it out or lose that turn. play this every couple of days, or once a week, and use a different set of ten sight words each time you play.
Tips for playing indoor hopscotch: let your kids ‘help’ push the tape onto the floor during setup by wiggling, crawling, or running along the tape. add arm motions to your hopping. up for some squares and to the side for others – almost like jumping jacks. this is a great way to get in a bit more exercise for toddlers and little kids who.
