Infinity Kappa 8 1 Got Them Restored Them And Lov I had the 8.1 series ii ( front ported) for 6 months. not a bad speaker, but i felt the highs were a little harsh compared to todays high quality tweeters. (you can adjust the level). they can sound boomy if you put them close to walls and corners, i found 3 feet. the min distance from back side walls in my 20'x18' room. The kappa 8 and 9 of the 135 sets of various speakers i've had over the past 20 years. are the most current needy speakers i've ever measured, the kappa 8 peaked at around 6amp on low end passages. and the 9 a whopping 10 plus amps. i definitely, believe that bi amping them, even if you have fantastic amplification as is?!.
