P38bryan. •. the pic from pakistan of an underfolder ak in 7.62x25 was the inspiration. the bolt, trunnion, barrel, and recoil spring all changed. the magwell is actually a regular ak magwell with the front trunnion 20mm further into the receiver. i welded locking tabs onto the mags so it's a regular ak rock and lock design.
Iirc, it is barreled for both 7.62x25 *and* 9mm. there are other 7.62x25 conversion discussions on the gunco caliber conversion forum, but this is one of the most complete and well polished builds i've seen. the basis of a 7.62x25 conversion focuses on the fact that barrels need to be chambered. reports are that "any" .30 caliber barrel can be. You can probably shoot this round with direct blowback, like a bizon in 9mm. see some of the other build thread on those to see the bolt carrier mods. dunno about barrel twist, would have to compare a ppsh twist rate to an ak twist rate, since the ak is about 800 fps faster, it probably has too slow a twist rate to stabilize the 7.62x25. Everything that's old is new again not to disparage your skill and hard work, but you have just built the us equivalent of the chinese type 64 (silenced) smg, which is built on ak47 design principles, gas operated, in 7,62x25 special heavy ball cartridge, and silenced to boot i hope yours is only semi auto!!!! otherwise nfa applies ( 10 years in club fed).
