Koi Pond Deck Build Part 1

This is part one of a two part series of my koi pond build. i started this pond over a year ago but got overwhelmed with how much footage i had (8 hours)in t. 1. fill the pond with a garden hose and dechlorinate the water. place the end of the hose in the bottom of the pond, then turn on the tap and let the pond fill to about 1–2 in (2.5–5.1 cm) below the rim. if you live in an area with non potable water, use a hose filter to purify the water as it comes out. Step 2: the footer frames were set up with 2"x6", 2"x10" and layered masonite for the curve. rebar was then laid out and tied together with the rebar gun. the rebar was placed on top of rebar chairs (rebar blocks could be used as well) to keep the rods in the center of the concrete pad during the pour. Unfold the epdm liner and fit it to match the shape of the pond. extend the liner onto the banks for a minimum one foot distance. install the underlayment first, followed by the pond liner. fold the corners inward and leave at least 12 inches over the side walls of the pond to secure it with a cap board or stone.
