Mazda mechanic: drew. remove the connector form the pcm and the fan module. ohm test the blue wire. if resistance is more than 5 ohms, you have a open in the wiring harness. try installing a jumper wire between the blue wire at the pcm and connect to the blue wire at the fan module to bypass any fault in the harness.
Q A Testing Radiator Fan Control Module Mazda Mpv Mazda ођ That fan does appear to be listed for 2010 models. however, after a close inspection the connectors seem to be identical, so it should plug and play fine. also, the housing of that fan looks like it has identical mounting points as the oem fan. the control unit is mounted in a different spot though, so that theoretically could be a fitment issue. Module supplies power and ground circuit to the fan motor, also modulates the fan speed , as requested from the pcm. the pcm also controls the ac relay most likely through a can communication from the climate control panel,depending on if your car has auto or manual heart controls. why do you suspect yours is broken ? 2010 mazda 3 gt. If your fan control module is only putting out a few millivolts, there's a chance it has died, or maybe lost power, or is not being told to turn on the fan. but the fact that the fan does come on intermittently suggests that there is a bad connection somewhere. the component pictured is indeed a capacitor (aka condenser). it looks like a film type. I will send you a wiring diagram of your fan circuit. first check the fuse. it looks like a 40a fuse in your fuse and relay box under the hood. if it is o.k. then i would suspect the fan control module. however i would first check to see if you have power out of the module to the fan ( possible broken wire between fan and module).
