These look an awful lot like barbies, but with a few monster features tossed on top. had to look it up and learned monster high was made by mattel, so it makes sense. as a barbie fan when i was a kid, i gotta say i rather like these, and probably would have wanted monster high as a kid, if they had looked like this. wish they could do a crossover. The prototypes used barbie and myscene molds to debut the concept while the actual designs and molds were in development. pretty resourceful, but they wouldn't have stood out as a separate franchise if mattel kept with this version, that's for sure. the major appeal for the monster high dolls was their unique look.
