Overkill System Is 90 Done вђ Polk Audio Forum Finally got all the gear in the wall. i'm waiting for a black sae amp in the shop to replace the phase linear 400 on the right side. not quite done filling the media rack yet. there's about 3600 watts rms @ 8 ohms of power available. oddly enough, i don't listen to music very loud anymore, i must be getting old. i still have all the fine tuning. Here it is: polk 90 rt they are part of the new "vanishing series". they stuck either a 5x7 or a 6x9 into a backchamber tilted on an axis. pretty cool design. penguin you are right there really isn't such a thing as overkill, i just didn't want to spend more on these speakers if i didn't have to (i'd rather put the money towards a larger subwoofer).

As a previous owner of a set of 3.1tl speakers, i agree with previous statements regarding amplifier power. they are a fine pair of speakers i owned mine for years until they were replaced by a set of ads l1590s. make sure you have the interconnect cable that goes between the two speakers at a minimum. My initial plan was to replace the 27 year old (1988 vintage) cd player with a dac and run a usb cable from a computer running jriver media center software. i don't particularly care for jriver's sound quality in my home's two channel system. Do you think that using a rti38 as a surround is too much? basically, would that be too much speaker for that role as opposed to a something smaller?.
