Watch some videos on how cars are painted 😉 i use acrylic. if i want it to look worn eventually, i just let it happen with use. if i want it to be preserved, i hit it with a clear coat polyurethane. at the hardware store i just pick up the radiator spray paint. dry off the armour and spray away. Apply main paint in glazes. choose spot where you think a glint will be, then blend from white to the main paint colour down from that. apply shadows (stronger the better). edge highlight in white. some of the more awesome painters may have different techniques, but this generally works for me. 1.
