Besan Barfi Video Recipe Nitha Kitchen 1. pour 120 grams ghee (½ cup 1½ tbsps) to a heavy bottom wide pan. i used my pressure pan here. heat it on a medium flame. when it melts and turns hot, add 2 tablespoons fine semolina. mix and let it fry for 50 to 60 seconds. 2. then add 2 cups besan (210 grams). Instructions. grease 8” flat plate and set aside. in a bowl mix besan and semolina, add about 3 tablespoons of butter mix it well by rubbing with fingers. mix will become grainy; let it sit for about 15 minutes. put rest of the butter in frying pan over medium heat; add besan mix and roast for about 4 5 minutes stirring continuously basen. Heat ghee in a pan and when it melts add besan. now starts the laborious task. reduce the heat to low and fry the besan with ghee for the next 15 17 minutes. keep the mixture stirring continuously till gram flour becomes fragrant and gives a nutty aroma and the mixture becomes light golden brown in colour. Heat a pan with sugar and water just to immerse the sugar (½ cup). continue boiling in medium flame until it reaches one string consistency. add grated coconut, mix well. add besan in sprinkled way and stir briskly without any lumps.
