After sanding and staining. the beautiful wood grain comes through again. one of the captain's chairs with new stain, beige paint on the back detail and fresh linen seat covering. side chair with new stain, paint and linen seat covering. 100% pure linen. gorgeous leg detail. The next step was sanding the entire table with 220 grit sand paper to unify the filled sections with the rest of the wood, being careful not to sand too much of the veneer away since it’s only about 1 64” thick. now that i had a clean slate, i applied the first coat of danish oil, which was cherry tinted at diane’s request. The table just needed a refinish to clear up a few scratches, but had no chipped veneer or any other major issues. the set even includes a 12″ leaf and custom table pad. since this set is in such excellent condition i have it priced at $545, which i think is still a steal for a whole dining room table and chair set.
