Rv Fridge Not Working On Electric Donella Hendrix

1. check the breakers (120v) the first step is to check your breakers. if a breaker has popped in your rv, the fridge won’t work on electricity. and it will automatically switch to propane, if available, to prevent it from warming up. while some rvs have shared breakers, most have the refrigerator on its own breaker. If resetting your circuit breaker doesn’t fix the problem then you may have a crossed or faulty wire in your rv you will need to locate and fix. 3. defective heating element. if the fridge works on gas but not electricity, you might have a faulty heating element.

Troubleshooting: your fridge works on electric, but not propane . if your fridge is working on 120 volt ac, you know it’s not a cooling coil problem and not a 12 volt dc problem. you can now isolate the issue to the propane chain. check the propane level on your tank and make sure that the service valve is open. Unplug it and take it to a spacious place and flip it upside down. this will allow the sediments to travel away from the device. 5. fridge taking longer to cool. a warm fridge is one of the worst problems in your rv since it makes your perishable food such as dairy products and meat to go stale. 1. first, check circuit breakers and fuses at the panel, then check the outlet at the back of the refrigerator for voltage. a multimeter is recommended, but plugging a blow dryer or other device into the outlet can tell you if the voltage is present. 2. next, verify that 12 volts dc is present at the back of the refrigerator. If another device works, you know it’s a problem with your fridge. if the next device doesn’t work, you should check your rv electric box to see if a breaker is tripped. a tripped breaker has a red mark and is usually going in the opposite direction of properly functioning breakers. flip the tripped breaker back.
