This vid is simply to forewarn potentail buyers what they may getting themselves into.forgot to mention that not only does the micro adjuster have the backla. It was well packed. no damage to crate or mill noted. mill is as expected. preservative oil needed to be cleaned off. works fine. needs trammed in. my x axis was right leaning by .030. y was off about .006. shimmed with the shim kit offered by lms. took about 4hr. as everyone pretty much knows the plastic gears in these seig mill are noisy.

The only things i got for my taig: vise (upgraded from included) & parallels. small hold down set. collet set (included) a few endmills (in addition to included 2) drill chuck and drill bits (not sure about the sieg, but for taig i should have gotten stubby length) edge finder. indicator (can get by without it). Per niagra tools, the cutting speed for aluminium can be between 800 2000sfm with carbide. for a 7 8 end mill, that's still 3500rpm at the low end, double that for a 7 16. given your mill can't even spin fast enough to hit the low end of recommended, dunno you should be worried about that unless you're running hss end mills for some reason. Depending on your demands, you could use 4 micro steps and still benefit from the full step torque. basically you have a feed rate during milling when the stepper has to overcome the milling forces. when returning to a position at max rate, there are no milling forces just the friction and acceleration forces.
