Welcome to wood 'n' stuff w steve french!here's the solution to the 2 rings puzzle. you can see the first video, which shows the build process, here:https:. 1. this is a classical topological problem and magic trick. the concept is fairly simple and the diagram is misleading. if you manufacture latex or plastic loops as per the diagram, it is an impossible task. however, if you take a string then to create the loops, you need to tie 2 knots. that's the key. Step 10: add string. you are now ready to build the puzzle. cut a piece of 1 4" diameter rope to 2 feet long. i melted the ends so it would thread easier. thread the puzzle as shown. tie knots in the end and pull the knot into the block. you could leave it this way or go ahead to the next step. Step 3: base. cut a 1" thick (or thicker) piece of wood to 5" x 5". use a 1.25" forstner bit to make the hole in the center. drill the string holes as shown. i used a 1 2" forstner bit for the counterbore. the chamfers on edge are optional just me playing with the router :).
