The weight of the paper directly affects its durability and ability to handle different coloring mediums. heavier or thicker paper, such as bristol paper, is highly recommended for coloring books. these papers can handle more layers of color, preventing bleed through and ensuring a long lasting finished product.
Watercolor paper is the go to paper for many artists. it is much thicker than printer and bleed proof paper and is designed to soak up watercolor paints. this means that it is an excellent choice for things like water color pencils and will also do a great job at soaking up all the ink from markers although some jagged edges may occur. Strathmore 400 series colored pencil paper: this paper is 100lb (163 g m2) and has medium tooth. that’s super great for colored pencils. it has a texture that can take a lot of layers of color without wimping out. you can even toss on some charcoal without breaking a sweat (or the paper)!.
