Hi guys, i am in the process of going through the set up of my new mini mill a little machine shop hi torque mill, which is basically a sieg sx2 clone. i have been reading a lot of threads, which talk about stiffening the column. i noticed right away that i could easily flex my mill's column about .005".

On the horizontal mill, i find that feeds of around 3" to 10" per minute are about right for most of the work that i do. so, if you have a leadscrew that moves the table 0.200" per turn (or 5 turns to the inch), and you want 10" minute for a top feed, you'd need 50 rpm (5 turns inch * 10 inch min = 50 turns min).
