People: 1 2. step 1: pack window sill until level. first of all you need to prepare the window opening. it’s important to get the sill straight and level. start at one end with a 5mm packer and work along the length of the sill until it’s level. step 2: spread packers along window sill and fix down. Step #3 (fixing the window) side fixings should be used at 150mm from the top and bottom of the frame, and a maximum of 450mm between fixings. windows above 1800mm wide should also be fixed in the center of the head and cill. you can fix into the brickwork using either a screw and anchor plug or self tapping concrete anchor, ensure the fixing. Apply a bead of caulk to the inside face of the blind (exterior) stop moulding. place the window into the opening, pressing it tightly against the caulk. put shims where pre drilled holes are to secure the window. measure the window diagonals to check that the window is square. the measurements should be the same. Place the window and nail off the flanges at the top. before nailing on the bottom flange, pop a shim under every other nail hole and nail through the shim, giving the water an escape path for whenever the inevitable leak does occur. finish nailing down the flanges on all sides. wrap the sides, then the head of the window, leaving the sill open.
