General prep the usual to get started. pulled the cowl off, disconnected the battery, drained the coolant, and got the coolant reservoir up and out of the way. vent pipe fun the two vent pipes, the 3 way connector, and the heat shield all need to come off to make space. be sure to remove both hoses going to the combi valve.

Finally tracked the leak down. there was a coolant leak by the gas pedal where the heater core pipes go into the pipes that pass through the firewall. the pipes that pass through the firewall have damaged flanges, also part of the lower plastic cover is broken. looks like the previous owner damaged some things when replacing the heater core. 6. remove the footwell distribution plastic thingy, by removing a single t20 torx screw. 7. remove the plastic cap from the heater core using a t15 torx or a 5.5 mm socket. 8. remove the screw from the aluminium part using a 10 mm socket or a t30 torx. 9. remove the cap from the coolant tank to release the pressure. Turbo diesel. oil level check. cars burn, leak and otherwise dispense of their oil. check your level frequently and top up when necessary. 2013 volkswagen passat tdi se 2.0l 4 cyl. turbo diesel. replace brights. on many cars, the high beam bulb runs at reduced power during the day check 'em and change 'em!.
