All 11 percy jackson books (including chalice of the gods), ranked worst to best. rick riordan's percy jackson books are all excellent, but some are better than others. let's rank every mainline. 5 blood of olympus or the book that shall not be named (2 10) nearly all parts (except the adventure of nico and reyna) were awful. and the ending was the worst ending in fiction history. four of the seven were forgotten. no percy, no annabeth, no hazel, no frank. plus jason was useless again.
6. the sea of monsters (book #2) (disney hyperion) the sea of monsters isn’t a bad book. it simply doesn’t top any of the other books in the percy jackson series, which unfortunately lands it. Especially in heroes of olympus, for people not in the know percy jackson heroes of olympus is an series about a group of teens saving the world and (reluctantly) doing the greek gods's dirty work. rick riordan expertly crafted a fun but flawed story about percy jackson, the son of posideon going through quests and being a normal guy, falling. The series makes several references to percy jackson and the olympians, though, so read that first. crossovers. the son of sobek. the staff of serapis. the crown of ptolemy. now you should read the crossovers, as they only make sense if you've read both the kane chronicles and percy jackson and the olympians the heroes of olympus. Kids say ( 139 ): the story setup isn't terribly smooth, and this is a denser read than the first few percy jackson books, but once the action heats up, that's easily forgotten. it definitely helps to read the percy jackson series first. this spin off uses the same camp that trains heroes and churns out three more intriguing demigods.
